Guest Spotlight: Dr. Rebecca Oluwaseun Adeyemi
For this week’s Zoom Training coming up on Friday, August 8, 2025, with the topic “Postpartum Depression in Nigerian Women: The Silent Battles”, we are thrilled to introduce our facilitator, Dr. Rebecca Oluwaseun Adeyemi.
Dr. Adeyemi is an Obstetrician/Gynecologist with over 18 years of experience in the medical field here in Nigeria. She earned her Medicine/Surgery degree at the University of Maiduguri in 2006 and her fellowship in Obstetrics/Gynecology from the West African College of Surgeons in 2015. She is also a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (FICS).
Over the past decade, Dr. Adeyemi has served at Alliance Hospital and Services Ltd., Abuja, a private hospital offering a wide range of medical and surgical services. In her current role as the Deputy Medical Director, she supervises the day-to-day operations of the hospital and oversees all administrative and operational activities.
As the Head of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department, she leads her team in delivering high standards of care and conducts trainings and mentorship programs for nurses, midwives, and interns.
Dr. Adeyemi is extremely passionate about advancing women’s health and reproductive rights. She has been featured on numerous talk shows and has participated in various international conferences and training programs.
She is happily married to Dr. David Adeyemi and they are blessed with three wonderful children.
With the alarming rise in cases of postpartum depression among Nigerian women, this training session will shed light on the silent battles many face and provide practical discussions around treatment, support, and reducing the prevalence of these cases in Nigeria.
